Dear friend,

We are launching our new television ads this week. We have booked slots to show the ads in every state in the lead up to and following the June week of action.

Every second our ads are on air cost thousands of dollars. But it’s worth it. Last year our ads marked the start of a powerful community campaign and shook up the Government.

Our new ads feature real people hurt by the new IR laws telling their own stories.

You can view the ad on the Rights at Work website now.

The Howard Government’s industrial relations laws attack job security and cut take home pay and conditions. Last year John Howard said the union was running a scare campaign, but the people in our ads know first hand the reality of the new workplace laws. Lyn Barnes was forced out of her job after 25 years of loyal service. Cowra abattoir workers were sacked and offered their jobs back at lower pay and conditions.

Please help us keep our new ads on air for as long possible. Support the union campaign and

donate to the advertising fund now.

In 2005, the ACTU ads were funded by the generous contributions of unions and community members. We need your help again. Every dollar you donate goes straight into a campaign fund devoted to the Rights at Work ad campaign. Every dollar you donate makes a difference.

Keep up the pressure on the Howard Government. Donate to the union campaign now.

The ad and the donations campaign can be found here at this link: www.rightsatwork.com.au/campaigns/supporttheunioncampaign.

For any questions or assistance using the website, please call the ACTU Union Helpline on 1300 362 223.

Many thanks,

Greg Combet

ACTU Secretary
