Here is the list of issues tabled by Management at today's EBA6 meeting:-
DELIVERING BEST VALUE
- provide responsible pay increases, linked to specific business and productivity
- insert new clause recognising commitment to processes which deliver best value in achieving organisational aims as a means to provide sustainable employment;
- amend internal providers/alternative suppliers clause to permit contestability within process framework;
- delete no forced redundancies clause;
- retain contingent workforce provision but seek to discuss labour hire agencies rates;
COMPETITIVE ACTIVITIES
- increase the spread during which ordinary hours can be rostered without penalty to reflect community expectations for services; apply competitive penalty rates for night and weekend work;
- flexibility to change rosters, start, finish and meal times and to change or accumulate RDOs to meet operational and business needs;
- develop, for all areas of Council that operate 7 days a week, a new 5 day rotative week, with a negotiated loading or payment eg annualised salary.
CAPABLE AND ADAPTIVE WORKFORCE
- improve assessment or potential for placement before referring employee to retraining and placement; separate after 6 months if unplaced;
- eliminate payment for medical voluntary separation;
- ensure sustainability of sick leave safety net by clearer processes
- acknowledge employee support for improved systems and processes, including new technology, and commitment to gain new skills, adapt to new ways of working and participate in initiatives which assist council to meed future needs.
LEGALLY CERTIFIABLE EBA
- common 2 year EBA, certified both federal and state jurisdictions;
- reflect council's commitment to effective relationships with employees and their unions, and to use consultative processes with all employees;
- refine and consolidate sustainable employment conditions that meet business needs in a single document;
- ensure integrity of the EBA and no protected industrial action during life of the agreement.
