LORD MAYOR'S BUDGET 2005/2006

Brisbane City Works is now keeping 148 jobs including 12 salaried positions.  This is great news for us.    There are still discussions to be had between BCC and the Unions over the impact of the potential job losses in other areas.

We have successfully been able to influence the budget discussions through our petitions and high level discussions with various leaders.

This is an important win as we have reinforced our position to keep jobs and services in BCC.

Like any area of BCC where there is possible job losses we are concerned about:-

  1. our members in the firing line;
  2. the impact on the Brisbane community.

MEMBERSHP MAKE THE SWITCH TODAY

If you pay your membership fees by payroll deduction - did you know that BCC takes a commission for paying your union fees?  When you pay by direct debit, credit card or invoice it will be cheaper for you.  There is also a discount if you pay yearly in advance.
