EBA6 Extension Update
18 June 2008
The Enterprise Bargaining team have met with Council to discuss the EBA 6 extension. The Unions have finalised discussions in relation to a roll over/extension agreement, and the following matters have been tabled:
-
Increased wages rates and allowances from the 1st of July 2008
-
A universal dispute procedure as agreed to for EBA 6
-
Increase local laws flexibility allowance
-
Increased truck hire rates and travel time for owner drivers
-
RTBU listed four issues particular to bus drivers requiring discussions
-
Application and coverage of the "hot skills" policy
The Terms of Reference for the review of HR Policies and Procedures and the simplification of HRIS Rosters and Pay Rules were agreed and a time table for discussions will be established this week.
These issues will be progressed during the life of the EBA 6 extension and would be implemented, where agreed, in the next agreement EBA 7.
Council is seeking changes regarding the improved management of recurrent/multiple absences of sick leave as part of the extension of the current agreement. A working party has been established and will continue to meet to ensure that no current EBA conditions are lost in this process. The working party will present suggestions to the EBA meeting Thursday.
Our members are very concerned about an appropriate pay offer, and that it should take place immediately in July. At the EBA meeting on June 19, 2008, progress will be reviewed, and the ASU is optimistic that we there will be a pay offer that will be presented to members at members meetings.
