ASU Meeting Notice and Invitation for Professional Staff working in Computing / Institute / Technology & Social Science   Building Centre Staff

Griffith University – Mt Gravatt Campus

 9 May 2008

ASU Invitation for Professional Staff to attend a short presentation on the “Your Rights at Work…the campaign continues” and the recent federal legislative changes on Industrial Relations.

The YRAW Campaign Goals include:

  1. No AWAs or Individual Contracts
  2. Right to Union Membership and Representation
  3. Collective Bargaining Rights
  4. Protection from Unfair Dismissal
  5. A Strong Safety Net
  6. An Independent Umpire

We would also like to introduce your new ASU Organiser for Universities, Ms Valda Graham.

Valda will be visiting various sections of your campus to introduce herself and to provide an update on Industrial Relations similar to what we aim to share with you at this session.

This is particularly important, considering that we are beginning to establish the steps and processes that Delegates and interested Members need to take, as we move closer to a new Bargaining period for discussions into a new Union Collective Agreement.

Your help is vital to ensure we achieve fair and successful outcomes in bargaining. If you would like to become involved or would like more information, please contact the ASU on 3252 8666 or a info@qld.asu.net.au
