ENERGEX What are they hiding?

6 May 2008

In recent days you would have received communication from Energex about the fair offer they wanted the ASU to agree to on your behalf on the 28 of March 2008.

What they are not telling you is the final clauses of the offer that was put on the table listed below….

This offer is conditional upon:

  • Acceptance by the union parties prior to close of business, Monday 31 March 2008;
  • Development of an agreed grievance and dispute settling procedure which allows timely resolution of disputes at the local level and recognises the role of communication in this process; and
  • Development of an agreed workplace change and flexibilities clause which will assist ENERGEX to achieve its strategic goals.

What are the flexibilities that Energex want?

Why haven’t they told us?

If they were that reasonable why not come clean on them?

They know what they want, is it cutting into your conditions?

Why should we help upper management get a greater bonus if we aren’t compensated?

Lets repeat that important point again Energex wanted…

Development of an agreed workplace change and flexibilities clause which will assist ENERGEX to achieve its strategic goals.

The ASU is a reasonable union, we are willing to look at any flexibilities that Energex want to make, as long as Energex is willing to compensate our members for whatever sacrifices they have to make.

They say they want to expand the pie, but what they’ll leave us is The Crust.

ASU members Work to Live not Live to Work.

Power is our industryit’s time we used it
